Volunteer

Spectrum Thunder Football team requires many roles to create a successful experience for the players.

We want Coaches to focus on Coaching, and Players to focus on Playing.

Without inputs of time and money, from the community of people who care about these players, we will not achieve our goal.

Below is a list of hours and tasks required to make this team run, as loosely defined in each role.  Each outlines a basic expectations of time input, with season start tending to be heavier in some work.  Additional volunteer opportunities are required for fundraising events, banquets, game days – with emails being sent each time help is needed.

Please consider stepping up to one of these roles:

Managers (Two required ~15hours/month/season – most can be done via mobile)
– This role will requires attending X monthly Team Parent meetings
– Email point person for Parents and school
– Email game day co-ordination and attendance
– Data entry for contact info, BC High School football association
– Maintain player and parent records, ensure all stakeholders have the information required
– Create Roster for fans at home games
– Make team travel arrangements (book ferries, buses, create attendance in/out sheets)

Treasurer (One required ~10 hours/month/season)
– Collect fees & paperwork, issue receipts
– This role will requires attending X monthly Team Parent meetings
– Apply for Kid Sport grants
– Maintain financial sheets for the Club and Team Parent
– Apply for licensing for any fundraising initiatives
– Maintain documentation for fundraising, expenses, etc

Secretary (One required ~7 hours/month)
-Attend & document Team Parent monthly meetings (during active season)
-Disseminate Team Parent information as required (minutes, events, reminders relevant to Team parent)
-Ideally can assist in maintenance of website, Facebook page & email
– Book school facilities for meetings and events

Fundraising Co-Coordinator (One required ~10hours per month/season)
-Co-ordinate volunteers for fundraising event – involving email, planning and execution
– Attend Team Parent monthly meetings (during active season)
– Liaise with Treasurer for co-coordinating of required financial matters
– Attend monthly Team Parent meetings

School Representative (One required to attend monthly School PAC meetings ~3hours monthly)
– Maintain monthly presence at PAC meetings
– Act as an advocate for our Football Team within the PAC
– Report relevant details to Team Parent for discussion at meetings

Field Team Managers (One required – 6 games per season ~4hours/month/season)
– ensure fields are set up for HOME games
– book home game fields through school, custodians for weekend games
– ensure field lining is booked and completed in advance of home games

School Liaison (One Spectrum Faculty Member)
-Collect fees & paperwork from players
-Maintain player records for Spectrum players
-Advocate for Players to school facility and vice versa

Spirit Co-coordinator (One required ~2hours/month/season, with more time at beginning of Spring Camp)
-Website Updates & Facebook Moderator, team email recipient
-Maintain inventory of school spirit wear
-Distribute spirit wear to Players upon registration
-Collect fees from sales of Spirit wear, distribute to Treasurer
-Research and contract makers of Spirit wear, fill orders as required

Concession Co-Coordinators (Two required ~4 hours per home game – required ability to set aside 2-3 weekday afternoons)
– Ability Set-up & tear down Game Day concessions (or direct volunteers)
– Grocery shopping prior to home games (submit receipts)
– Cook & sell products to team supports
– Co-ordinate concession volunteers – 2 volunteers are ideal
– Co-ordinate funds with school (including floats and deposits)
